The Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries and Nutrition (FLFN) of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka (WUSL) is one of the latest leading education and training provider in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Livestock, Food Science & Technology and Human Nutrition in the national university system of Sri Lanka. Our faculty is reputed for its well qualified staff, experienced researchers, modern laboratories and updated teaching and learning facilities. The faculty contributes to the national development by producing knowledgeable, skilled and competent graduates through two undergraduate degree programmes and postgraduate research degree programme. The faculty conducts academic and other programmes with the assistance of four departments of study (Department of Food Science & Technology, Department of Applied Nutrition, Department of Livestock & Avian Sciences and Department of Aquaculture & Fisheries).
The degree programmes we conduct are very unique in the National University System of Sri Lanka and, in fact these programmes have become very popular. Over the past decade the faculty has improved the teaching-learning environment of the faculty. We continue to build relationships with government agencies, industry and non-governmental organizations. The faculty is committed to develop research programmes and outreach programmes which will contribute to the development of the food and nutrition sectors in Sri Lanka.
