WUSL wins at Sampath Green Inventor 2017: National competition for eco-friendly innovators
K.L. Amila Nuvan Perera of Faculty of Applied Sciences of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka placed 4th at the “Sampath Green Inventor 2017: National competition for eco-friendly innovators” organized by the Sampath Bank PLC. He invented an automated power adjusting smart bulb that seamlessly compensates for variation of lighting conditions of the installed location and thus it saves energy by reducing electricity consumption when additional light sources are available. H.D.S. Udakara and W.M.T.H. Wijesundara from Faculty of Applied Sciences and K.D.S. Nirodha, R.A. Hettige, R.T. Hettige, R.A.E. Manoj, and K.T.V.B. Alwis from Faculty of Technology also participated the competition. Dr I. P. M. Wickramasinghe from Faculty of Technology coordinated the University participation.
