The Wayamba University of Sri Lanka (WUSL) held a special convocation virtually for a group of students who requested the degree certificate urgently, on the 15th December, 2021.
The occasion was graced by Dr. Sanjeewa Bowatte, Acting Vice-Chancellor/WUSL & Dean/Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Jagath C. Edirisinghe, Dean/Faculty of Agriculture and Plantation Management, Prof. L.D.R.D. Perera, Dean/Faculty of Applied Sciences, Professor S.K. Gamage, Dean/ Faculty of Business Studies and Finance, Prof. (Mrs.) C.V.L. Jayasinghe, Dean/Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries & Nutrition, Mr. W.A. Don Chithrananda, Registrat of WUSL, and Mr. L.M.C. Siriwardhana, Snr. Asst. Registrar/Examination.
The special convocation was organized due to postponement of university’s annual main convocation several times since 2020 because of COVID-19 pandemic situation and continuous requests made by many students to being awarded the degree to pursue jobs and higher studies on time.
With the consent of those students the university senate executed a timely decision to award their degree certificates via a virtual ceremony and the degree certificate was mailed via registered post.
This was an exceptional action undertaken by the university senate to avoid disturbance for students’ future endeavours. Congratulations and wish you all the best students!
