Wayamba University Teachers’ Welfare Association (WUTWAS)

“WUTWAS” is the association of academic members of faculties situated in Kuliyapitiya and Labuyaya premises of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka. This was formed in 2017 April with the objective of assisting and promoting the welfare of the members of WUTWAS. The association also implements programmes that would be beneficial to the members and foster close relations among members. WUTWAS currently comprises 105 members, led by an Executive Committee which is elected by members at the Annual General Meeting of the Association.

Any member who works as a permanent academic staff member of the Wayamba University of Sri Lanka is eligible to apply for membership in the association. Benefits are provided to members in numerous ways through the welfare fund developed from monthly subscriptions of membership and with fundraising activities. Further, in 2021, WUTWAS has decided to extend the service to the community for the well-being of society.
