The Faculty of Medicine in Wayamba University of Sri Lanka (WUSL) marked a historical milestone of sending out the first batch of medical students for their sub-specialty appointments at Teaching Hospital, Kurunegala. The inauguration took place on 21st February 2022 at Kurunegala with Dr. Chandana Kedangamuwa, Director of the Teaching Hospital Kurunegala, Dr. Sanjeewa Bowatte, Acting Vice-chancellor of WUSL and the Dean of FOM, the consultant staff and the staff of the para-clinical and clinical Departments of FOM gracing the occasion.
The students were well received by the Teaching Hospital and the training will be done as an honorary service by the Health Ministry consultants.
